Network Rail operates and maintains the railway infrastructure. Our passengers and freight users are at the heart of everything we do. We help connect people to their friends and families and get goods to their destination safely and efficiently. We’re an organisation where people matter. When you’re part of our team, you matter to us and you matter to millions. We’re continuing to build a more diverse and inclusive organisation which is representative of the passengers we serve. To do this, it’s essential we become a more open, diverse and inclusive organisation, harnessing the skills and expertise of all our people and attracting the best talent to help us have a safe, accessible railway for everyone. We’re an inclusive employer of choice and we welcome applications from everyone.
West Coast South: Keeping Britain Moving
Stretching from Crewe to London Euston, West Coast South is part of Europe’s busiest mixed-use railway—moving millions of passengers and 10% of the UK’s freight each year. With over 1,000 miles of track and 64 stations, it’s a vital link between major cities and local communities. As part of the North West & Central region, we serve 1.3 million passengers daily and move 700,000 tonnes of freight weekly—covering a quarter of the national network. We’re focused on delivering safe, reliable journeys and building a better railway, while championing diversity and inclusion across everything we do. We also support flexible and hybrid working — if it works, we’ll make it happen.
London Euston is the southern terminus of the West Coast Main Line. It’s a gateway from London to popular destinations like Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, Edinburgh and Glasgow. London Euston is the 10th Busiest station in the UK and in 2025 served over 50 million customers.
