Brief Description

We are currently looking for an Analysis Specialist to join our Customer, Revenue and Growth team.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced analyst to deliver high-quality financial and data-driven insight to support revenue forecasting and commercial decision-making. The role involves complex data analysis, benchmarking against internal and external indicators, and developing best-practice revenue models to inform business cases and investment proposals.

You will support the development of accurate forecasts, promote analytical outputs with key stakeholders, oversee targeted external support, and provide clear, actionable insight to senior leaders to accelerate recovery and drive revenue growth.

A bit about the team…

The Customer & Revenue Growth team brings together a diverse group of individuals with backgrounds from across the industry, including Owning Groups, Train Operating Companies (TOCs), Network Rail and consultancies. The high-performing team provides expertise in revenue strategy, analysis and forecasting as well as insights, marketing, and brand.

We are playing an increasingly proactive role in driving short-term revenue and planning for long-term revenue growth, enabling us to deliver a financially sustainable railway.

What you’ll bring…

  • Proven ability to review large data sets of rail industry data and produce analysis, cross tabulations, power pivots etc. based on that analysis.
  • Expert Powerpoint Skills, with experience of producing high quality presentations used effectively with a senior audience.
  • Proven ability of handling a range of different tasks to tight deadlines and ability to manage own work accordingly.
  • Proficiency in designing and applying statistical and/or economic evaluation and forecasting methods such as regressions or econometric analysis.
  • Experience in analysing and manipulating large datasets including the use of SQL or other coding language such as Python.
  • Familiarity with spreadsheet best practice approaches and ability to run complex models and build simple models.
  • Ability to work at pace and adapt to emerging priorities whilst delivering work to a high degree of assurance.

This is a permanent role or Industry Secondment for 12 months.
