Senior Manager for IT Systems and Application Data

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager for IT Systems and Application Data to join our team. In this role, you will lead a talented team of IT professionals responsible for managing and optimising our critical IT systems and application data infrastructure. Your expertise will drive the strategic direction, implementation, and maintenance of cutting-edge technologies that support our organisation’s mission and growth to deliver an application transformation and reform programme that will enable the business to deliver digital service and enhance operational efficiencies.

Key Accountabilities

  • You’ll have overall accountability for managing all EMR business applications and associated data.
  • You will be the interface and conduit between IT, the business user community, Senior Executives and Heads of Department, suppliers, EMR PMO and TUK Group IT on IT and business systems and data.
  • Supporting the IT strategy of a cloud first approach, engage with the business and suppliers to maintain system stability, service levels and for any changes / upgrades, these are managed through the IT change control and PMO project management processes.
  • Accountable for recruitment, development, retention, and organisation of the team.
  • Handle multiple business project activities concurrently, directing and managing your team resources to achieve deadlines and requirements according to agreed priorities.
  • Strong ability to map out business processes (as-is), understand current issues, business requirements for change and agree a way forward (to-be) that aligns with company strategy, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • The above list is not exhaustive, and on occasion, the role may need to undertake other reasonable requests as required by their line manager, in line with grade and competence.

What we need from you

  • Significant proven experience in managing a portfolio of business systems and understanding of emerging technologies.
  • Educated to degree level and qualified in either: PRINCE2, AGILE, ITIL v.3, APMP.
  • Strong operational knowledge of ISO standards 27001, 27701, audit & compliance standards, GDPR and security protocols.
  • Excellent project management and complex problem-solving abilities with proven experience of delivering IT change in a complex business environment from scope to implementation with budgetary management.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Highly collaborative with excellent written, verbal and presentation skills as well as being able to communicate at all levels within a large complex environment.

It would be great if you had

  • Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, TOGAF.
  • Good general knowledge of the Railway/Transportation and associated systems.
