As a Disability Confident Leader, we’ll do everything we can to accommodate any needs throughout the recruitment process. Safe behaviour is a requirement of working for Network Rail.

About the Role

Manage and develop a diverse team of roster clerks and operations support clerks, producing safe, efficient and cost-effective rosters and delivering trusted administrative support that helps local managers create environments where everyone can do their best work. You’ll play a key leadership role in ensuring our people, plans and rosters enable a safe, reliable and efficient railway for everyone.

  • Collaborate with Management Accountants to help managers plan, manage and deliver against annual budgets.
  • Provide clear, accurate and timely information to support decision-making, reporting and planning – including workforce visualisation, contingency planning, working time exceedances, absence management and financial off-costing.
  • Oversee accurate payroll inputs, ensuring colleagues are paid correctly and on time.
  • Manage support service contracts and systems, identifying opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiency and embed best practice through continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and provide audit documentation as required, ensuring robust governance and assurance.
  • Support local collective bargaining arrangements, acting as management-side secretary for Route/Area Council meetings and tracking agreed actions through to delivery.

Please note this is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract opportunity.
