Network Rail High Speed Ltd. (NRHS) is responsible for operating and maintaining the UK’s only international high-speed railway (HS1) owned by London St. Pancras Highspeed. The 109km London St. Pancras Highspeed infrastructure consists of a diverse range of railway assets such as the track, signalling, overhead line, lineside buildings, depots, viaducts and long tunnels. NRHS is also responsible for operating and maintaining three international stations: St. Pancras, Stratford and Ebbsfleet International.

As a wholly owned subsidiary of Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd, NRHS is privately financed under an agreement with our client London St. Pancras Highspeed, undertaking a diverse range of activities from railway infrastructure maintenance and operations through to station facilities management and retail on behalf of our client.

The Role

To take ownership and manage the delivery of all property / facility issues that impact on the service delivered at Managed Stations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Act as the focus for the delivery of maintenance and minor works of Managed Station building fabric and building services within agreed budget limits.
  • Manage the delivery of all facilities contracts associated with the Managed Station portfolio in accordance with legislation and applicable group and company standards.
  • Lead and direct the maintenance team in the day-to-day provision of maintenance / facilities support to designated Managed Station(s). In particular, safeguard the undertaking of all statutory, planned preventative maintenance and health and safety works.
  • Audit Managed Stations tenants to confirm that their activities do not have a detrimental effect on either the maintenance of the Station or its assets. Agree corrective action as appropriate.
  • Develop and implement initiatives that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of directly delivered or contracted in services.
  • Act as focus for utility consumption at Managed Station(s). Develop action plans to monitor and reduce consumption, make sure all unaccounted usage is identified and eliminated and provide site usage information to enable all third party off-charging to be undertaken.
  • Work with the Station Manager to understand their maintenance priorities, based on customer feedback, agree what is achievable and then deliver agreed improvements.
  • Assist or lead in the provision of a safe working environment in the execution of works including reviewing method statements, risk assessments and Health & Safety plans. Act as Planning Supervisor where required.
  • Where inaccuracies are known or changes occur, communicate revisions required to the asset information / record steward.

The Person

Essential

  • Successful record in delivering high-quality facilities management services.
  • Proven practical property maintenance skills.
  • Experience of line management responsibility for artisans.
  • Proven ability to develop strong working relationships both internally and externally.
  • Proven ability to manage the delivery of building, mechanical and electrical contracts.

Desirable

  • A building fabric / building services related HNC qualification.
  • Knowledge of the company procedures and relevant legislation.

We follow a structured pay framework. Any salary offered will be within the following pay range: £35,582 – £42,218 (plus inner London allowance £3,270).

If you are successful in your application, you may be required to go through a security vetting process (depending on the role).

All prospective candidates who are offered a conditional role will be required to undergo and pass a drugs and alcohol test. Your application will be rescinded if you record a positive test. All positive drugs and alcohol test results for prospective candidates will be securely held on the Sentinel database and a 5-year suspension from applying for a safety-critical role, a role which requires PTS certification or a Key Safety role on Network Rail Managed Infrastructure will be enforced.
