  • Provide leadership and direction to Station Duty Managers and frontline colleagues, deputising for the Flagship Station Manager when required.
  • Drive improvements in safety, security and compliance through effective risk management, investigations and action planning.
  • Support the delivery of operational performance objectives, ensuring the safe and efficient running of station operations.
  • Lead and coordinate responses to disruption, incidents and major events, ensuring customers and colleagues remain at the heart of decision making.
  • Monitor performance data, identify trends and implement improvement initiatives to enhance station performance.
  • Champion excellent customer service and work collaboratively with stakeholders, partners and other operators to improve the customer experience.
  • Support workforce planning, recruitment, colleague development and employee engagement activities.
  • Work closely with Trade Union representatives and support the effective management of people-related matters.
  • Contribute to revenue protection, commercial performance and financial compliance activities.

Who we’re looking for

This opportunity would suit a colleague who is looking to take the next step in their leadership journey and has a passion for delivering excellent operational and customer outcomes.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Experience of leading or supervising teams within an operational environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A commitment to safety, compliance and continuous improvement.
  • The ability to analyse information, solve problems and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Experience of managing performance, developing colleagues and driving engagement.
  • Knowledge of operational processes, resource management and service delivery.
  • The confidence to lead during disruption and challenging situations.
  • Degree-level education (or equivalent workplace experience) and A1 Assessor qualification, or a willingness to work towards this where appropriate.

Why apply?

This secondment offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience at a flagship station, broaden your leadership capability and develop your understanding of station management at a strategic level.

If you’re looking to challenge yourself, enhance your career development and make a real impact on the customer and colleague experience, we’d love to hear from you.
