  • Promote and support the delivery of the EMR Community Fund.
  • Support the effective promotion of Community Rail Partnerships to increase the use of passenger services.
  • Identify and work in local communities (including schools and colleges) to attract onto the Passenger Services those persons who find it challenging to access the Passenger Services or who will not usually travel on the Passenger Services.
  • Engage communities to promote awareness, information, and support in order to break barriers to travelling by rail.
  • Work collaboratively as part of the EMR External Relations team, including, after sufficient training and support, join the EMR Press On Call rota.

Key Skills & Experience Required

  • Successful track record of stakeholder and community engagement.
  • Experience of managing volunteers, projects, and initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (Verbal, written & ICT).
  • Ability to work using own initiative, being responsive, pro-active, and versatile.
  • Understanding of and commitment to equality and diversity.
  • Ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work experience in a similar role is desirable.
  • Driving licence as some locations might not be accessible via trains.

What We Offer

As well as a competitive salary, we’ll also offer you:

  • Excellent Railway Pension scheme.
  • Free standard travel on East Midlands Railway and Train Operating Companies under Transport UK.
  • Friends and Family discounted Tickets on the EMR Network.
  • 32 Days paid leave, increasing to 34 after 2 years’ service.
  • 75% discount on National Travel (inc partner and dependants).
  • Various training opportunities.
  • And many more!

Working Arrangements

EMR has a hybrid working policy which is applicable for this role. This means your time would be split between being out on the network, at a hub station, HQ, or working from home.

We are open-minded to applications from people who wish to have flexible working. Many of our staff work flexibly in many different ways. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you need. We can’t promise to give you exactly what you want, but we do promise not to judge you for asking.

Commitment to Diversity

At EMR, we want to proactively embrace diversity across our workforce and recognise that we are under-represented in terms of females and ethnic minority groups. We’re therefore taking positive steps to promote a positive and inclusive culture; we welcome applications from those that identify with these groups to better represent our communities.

To apply, complete the online application and upload your CV. As we operate a blind screening process, please remove all personal information including your name from your CV.
